What are the criteria
Enrollment in the R2E is not automatic. Vietnamese enterprises wishing to enroll must meet the key registration criteria below:
- Be a small and medium-sized enterprise, which has an annual average of [*] employers or fewer and meeting either of the following two criteria:
- total capital shall not exceed VND100 billion (around USD4.4 million);
- total revenue of the preceding year shall not exceed VND 300 billion (around USD13.2 million).
- Be primarily involved in one of these 3 sectors Agro, Horticulture, and Manufacturing;
- Must already have or will soon have an export-possible product and an established business model;
- Be committed to proactively participate in the program and to become a comparative trading partner of the Netherland enterprises.
Please note the criteria to qualify will vary — it’s not all about your size of business or how long your business has existed. Rather, we look for SMEs are thriving to consolidate their export knowledge, accordingly achieving the purposes pursued by the program.

Which enterprises are eligible for the program?
Vietnamese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from 2 to < 200 employees, belong to 3 industries:
1) Agriculture,
2) Horticulture,
3) Manufacturing.
Do SMEs need to pay for the program?
No, the program is completely free for the SMEs and it is funded by the Dutch government (RVO).
What is Ready to Export (R2E) program about?
Ready to Export (R2E) is a trade promotion program between the Netherlands and Vietnam with the beneficiaries being SMEs in 3 industries: 1) Agriculture, 2) Horticulture, 3) Manufacturing.
Vietnamese SMEs will be trained to improve their capacity and knowledge to be able to meet the import and export regulations of the EU in general and the Netherlands in particular. In addition, SMEs with excellent performance will be awarded prizes and connected with potential customers in the Netherlands during the last pillar of the program.
Is R2E program in Vietnamese?
Yes, but R2E will be in bilingual (English-Vietnamese) as one of the top priority for SMEs to be able to export is to have the basic English. SMEs should have at least 1 staff who can speak English to be able to participate in the program.
What is R2E’s award for SMEs with excellent performance?
R2E awards is,
– one First Prize: 10,000 EUR,
– one Second Prize: 5,000 EUR,
– one Third Prize: 2,000 EUR
When is R2E’s Gala Dinner and Awards Night?
When SMEs complete all training and mentoring programs, they will be selected to participate in R2E’s networking and awarding events at the end of the year.
For SMEs that already have export experience, are they allowed to skip the training section?
SMEs must participate in all 10 training courses to qualify for the one-to-one consulting round as well as to connect with potential customers in the Netherlands.
Which unit is RVO?
RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) is the Dutch Business Development Agency, part of the Dutch government’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and a sponsor of our R2E program.
Will training and mentoring be conducted online or offline? And what is the timetable?
The training program will be conducted both online (for those unable to attend offline) and offline in Hanoi and HCMC and the timetable will be announced later by the project management.
With regards to the mentoring program, timetable and mode of delivery (online or offline) will be decided by the participants and their mentor upon their mutual agreement.
